Color-changing car: BMW iX Flow

One of the most remarkable announcements of CES 2022, Flow – E Ink color changing technology was applied on the BMW iX model and shown to the visitors. This remarkable technology allows the body to take the desired color by stimulating the exterior of the car with electrical signals.

The Flow – E Ink color changing technology, developed by taking into account the reflecting sunlight and cooling properties of light and dark colors, has the ability to keep the interior temperature at an optimum level according to the weather conditions. Thus, the vehicle’s air conditioning system saves energy by making less effort to cool or heat the vehicle interior.

German automotive giant BMW introduced the technology vehicle BMW iX Flow, which it introduced as part of CES 2022 yesterday.

The exterior of the BMW iX Flow consists of millions of microcapsules with a diameter equivalent to the thickness of a human hair. These microcapsules are white when negatively charged and black when positively charged. Depending on the selected color setting, E Ink technology allows color pigments to be collected on the surface of white or black microcapsules by means of an electric field, thereby changing the color of the vehicle body.

The most powerful of the BMW Group: the iX M60

BMW took the stage with its new all-electric iX M60 vehicle. This model, which is the company’s late fastest and most powerful electric car, produces 619 hp thanks to the electric motors located on the front and rear axles. Being the first BMW car with a maximum torque of more than 1000 Nm, the New BMW iX M60 accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.8 seconds. According to WLTP norms, the car can travel 575 km on a full charge. The new BMW iX M60 achieves a range of 150 km in just 10 minutes of charging.

8K resolution in-car entertainment system: BMW Theater Screen

BMW also attracted attention with its E Ink color changing technology and its electric car called iX M60, as well as its 8K resolution in-car entertainment system BMW Theater Screen. The system, which has a large 31-inch multimedia screen, claims to turn the rear seats of the vehicle into a private movie theater with the My Mode Theater feature.

Theater Screen hardware, which combines smart TV features, is supported by 5G technology. Cooperating with Amazon for this, BMW; It allows access to Fire TV, which is a combination of series, movies, music and podcasts, while driving. The technology, which can run 16:9, 21:09 or 32:9 formats, comes with the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond sound system.

Digital Art Mode

Chinese multimedia artist Cao Fei has specially prepared Digital Art Mode for the 50th anniversary of BMW Cultural Engagement. Fei’s work was integrated into the New BMW iX M60 for the first time. This feature was offered to users as part of the company’s renewed My Modes driving mode features.

Digital Art Mode harmoniously blends the traditional driving characteristics of the brand with the functions and interior ambiance of the vehicle. Individuals in the vehicle can personalize this engaging experience both functionally and emotionally, via a button or a voice command, depending on the driving situation and general mood. With this mode, the driving of the vehicle, the sensitivity of the steering wheel, the ambient lighting in the vehicle and the BMW Curved Display multimedia screen interface change on their own.

Digital Art Mode driving mode, which is currently only available in the BMW iX M60, will be added to some older models via a remote software update in 2022.

BMW IconicSounds Electric by Hans Zimmer

Developed by Hans Zimmer, BMW IconicSounds Electric produces engine sounds that differ according to the preferred driving mode. For the first time, this technology will be available in BMW’s all-electric Gran Coupé i4 from the first half of 2022.

The BMW IconicSounds Electric, which varies according to 6 different driving modes named My Mode Comfort, My Mode Personal, My Mode Efficient, My Mode Sport, My Mode Expressive and My Mode Relax in the new BMW i4, and the ambiance inside the car is determined by the BMW Curved Display.
