Bitfinex and Tether Launch Keet, Peer-to-Peer Video Calling App

Crypto companies Bitfinex and Tether have stepped into a new business and created a peer-to-peer encrypted video calling (P2P) application.

Sister companies collaborated with a company called Hypercore to launch Keet, a peer-to-peer video calling app.

Bitfinex CTO Paolo Ardoino stated that Bitfinex and Tether companies have invested $10 million in the Keet project so far and will continue to invest up to $100 million.

In the Keet application, users will be able to make audio and video calls, send messages and share files. In this application, users will be able to find and connect to each other using cryptographic key pairs.

In this way, it is aimed to ensure a complete security environment and prevent third parties from obtaining these images.

Mentioning that the project has been built for 5 years, CTO Paolo Ardoino continued his words as follows:

The project we are working on is a platform that aims to give users access to applications and freedom of speech. You can talk and share without fear of being listened to or having your data recorded.

The alpha version of the application can be downloaded from the website, and the mobile application is planned to be released in November.
