Bitcoin starts the next rally – despite the regulatory offensive

Denver Cryptocurrencies surprised on Wednesday night with a significant price jump. Bitcoin, the largest and oldest digital currency, gained 9 percent to hit a six-week high. During the course of Wednesday, the cyber currency even climbed above the $29,000 mark.

And Bitcoin’s popularity among all cryptocurrencies seems to keep increasing. The cybercurrency now accounts for 49.5 percent of the total cryptocurrency market cap, according to data from analytics firm Coinmarketcap, up 10 percent since January.

But the second largest cryptocurrency, Ether, was also able to increase by around five percent on Wednesday night and was last listed at $1827.
