Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich According to information from the Handelsblatt, a representative of the pharmaceutical company Biontech is also among the twelve-strong business delegation that will accompany Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) on his short trip to China next week. Also on the list of accompanying companies are the car manufacturer BMW, the chemical company Wacker, the sporting goods manufacturer Adidas, the baby food manufacturer Hipp, the heating technology company Geo Clima Design and the pharmaceutical company Bayer.

As the Handelsblatt reported on Thursday, VW boss Oliver Blume, Siemens boss Roland Busch, who is also chairman of the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business (APA), and Merck boss Belén Garijo, Deutsche Bank CEO Christian Sewing and BASF CEO Martin Brudermüller. According to Handelsblatt information, there were around 100 applications for the trip.

The participation of Biontech is particularly interesting. The pharmaceutical company has been trying to get its corona vaccine approved in China since the beginning of the pandemic.
