Binance Continues to Expand: Microsoft Acquires Senior Manager!

world’s largest cryptocurrency Exchange Binance announced that Rohit Wad, former corporate vice president of Microsoft, has been appointed to the position of chief technology officer (CTO) of the company.

In a blog post shared by Binance, he explained that Wad has been serving as the company’s CTO for 1 month and will be tasked with engineering scalable, compatible and fast Web3 services and solutions.

In addition, the company entrusted Wad with the tasks of monitoring issues such as security, stability and liquidity of the exchange. In his new position, the former Microsoft executive will help Binance adapt to regulatory requirements in the cryptocurrency world.

Binance stated that in Wad’s early days in his role, he worked in the background as CTO and was content to observe.

“I Switched To Binance Due To The Potential Of Web3 Technology”

In the post he shared on Linkedin, Wad stated in his statement that the potential of Web3 technology is huge and this influenced his decision to join Binance:

“We know that Web3 technology is still in its early stages, but it can significantly simplify the inefficiencies that Web2 has. Web3 looks excited and I’m excited to join Binance to lead a global technology team. We have hundreds of engineering and product positions open globally.”

Wad previously served as Director of Engineering at Facebook and Google. While at Microsoft, he was instrumental in establishing and developing Microsoft Teams and Skype.
