Binance CEO CZ Warns: “Be Careful If You Use This App!”

Cryptocurrency stock market Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ), in a statement on Twitter, warned that some data belonging to the messaging application Slack was stolen by hackers and that crypto currency users should be careful.

CZ posted the following on Twitter:

“If you use Slack, you have to be careful. Stay #SAFU.”

Binance CEO Warns Cryptocurrency Users After Slack’s Security Breach

Here are the details of the security breach in Slack:

Slack experienced a security incident during the holiday period that affected some private GitHub code repositories.

The immensely popular instant messaging app owned by Salesforce is used by an estimated 18 million users in businesses and digital communities around the world.

According to a notice published by Slack on December 31, 2022, malicious individuals gained access to the pools through a “limited number” of stolen Slack employee tokens. While some private code repositories were hacked, Slack assured users that the primary codebase and customer data were not affected.

While it’s not entirely clear how this security breach could affect cryptocurrency users, if hackers gain access to sensitive information such as logins or financial data, it’s possible that they could use that information to compromise cryptocurrency users’ accounts.

Slack is a communication platform for teams that allows companies to gather all their communication in one place, allowing team members to collaborate and communicate more efficiently.

The app includes features such as real-time messaging, group and private channels for communication, and integrations with various other tools and services.

This isn’t the first time Slack has encountered a security issue. The platform suffered a data breach in 2015 that affected more than 500,000 users. The company has since taken additional security measures to guard against future events.
