Dusseldorf At the beginning of her career, Carolin Eistert wanted to take a look at the world of consulting for “two or three years”. It has now been 14 years. In the summer she was promoted to head of recruiting at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). “The nice thing about the job of a consultant,” says Eistert, “is that we can work on the current and complex problems of our time and find solutions to them.”
BCG plans to hire 800 new employees this year, more than two thirds of them as consultants. The competition is also looking for more staff than it has been for a long time. The ten leading consulting firms and ten leading auditing firms want to fill almost 27,000 positions in the coming year – this was shown by a survey by the Handelsblatt in June.
