More than a kilometer separates Juvileina Street and Korsunskogo Street in western Bakhmut, but they have something in common. They are now the only streets in the city that the Ukrainians still control, at least in part.
The two roads are connected by part of the T0504 expressway, which has gained notoriety in recent months for being the last road Ukrainians can use to bring supplies to Bakhmut. Shortly before the Ukrainians threatened to lose this route as well, they launched localized counterattacks around Bakhmut last week.
