Axie Infinity (AXS) Postponed Its Hotly Awaited Project Due To Hack Attack!

Blockchain game Axie Infinity (AXS) developer Sky Mavis has delayed the long-awaited “Origin” update from March 30 to April 7.

As the reason for the delay, hackers received $ 625 million from the Ronin Blockchain, which formed the infrastructure of the game at the beginning of the week. cryptocurrency playing is shown.

Axie Infinity Developer Team Currently Investigating Impact of Hacking

The game developers said the following on the subject:

“While we are ready to open the game to a limited audience, we have given our engineering and security team additional time to delve deeper into the full implications of the latest attack. Once these teams have finished investigating the hack, they will be fully focused on the release of Origin.”

However, Sky Mavis announced in its statement a short time ago that the damages of the players who suffered by stealing their cryptocurrencies in the hacking event would be compensated. In the hack in question, the attackers discovered a software backdoor on the Ronin node and used this vulnerability to hack private keys on the network.

In this incident, which fell like a bomb on the agenda of the crypto money world, hackers made a total of 173,600 Ethereum and 25.5 million USDC they had stolen. Hackers immediately converted the stolen USDC coins to Ethereum, preventing USDC publisher Circle from freezing these cryptocurrencies.

This attack on the Ronin Blockchain went down in history as the second largest hack in the history of cryptocurrencies. The world’s largest hacking attack was the Poly Network attack last year. However, in this attack, the hackers decided to return the crypto money they stole, and all the stolen assets were given back to their owners.
