Avoid speculation tax when selling a house: This is how it works

Frankfurt A decent profit usually beckons. Real estate owners who bought their house or apartment in the past decade and now want to sell it again are likely to do so at a profit in most parts of Germany – because real estate has risen sharply in value in recent years. However, it becomes problematic if the owner bought the concrete gold less than ten years ago.

Then the increase in value should still be solid, but the so-called speculation tax will be charged in Germany when you sell it. And not just for apartments and houses, but also for some other forms of property such as garages or vacant lots.
