The Agriculture Committee, the standing committee of the United States House of Representatives, will soon discuss the future of digital assets and cryptocurrency will hold a session on the regulation of spot markets for its units.
The session titled “Achieving Clarity for Digital Asset Spot Markets” will take place on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 17:00.
The session will examine the current state of the digital asset industry, the challenges and opportunities it presents for innovation and economic growth, and the need for clear and consistent regulatory frameworks for spot markets. Spot markets, unlike futures or options markets, where contracts are made at a later date, bitcoin and platforms where cryptocurrencies are bought and sold for immediate delivery.
The session will be broadcast live on the committee’s website.
The session will feature statements from experts and relevant stakeholders from various sectors of the digital asset ecosystem, including exchanges, custodians, investors, developers and regulators.
