Famous journalist Fatih Altaylı made striking claims in today’s column published on his website. According to Altaylı, the necessary arrangements for the Atatürk series, which Disney Plus decided to broadcast only in Turkey due to some diaspora discussions in the past months, will be done by Netflix and Amazon.
Atatürk series will be broadcast globally by Netflix and Amazon
The Atatürk series was started as a project 3 years ago by Show TV general manager Saner Ayar and was wanted to be purchased by the popular US television channel HBO with a budget of 17 million dollars. However, HBO abandoned the project for an unknown reason and later purchased Disney Plus.
Until this summer, the series was planned to be broadcast globally on Disney Plus, but some diaspora discussions that took place this summer caused Disney to broadcast the production only in Turkey.
Naturally, the platform faced intense reactions from Turkish users and paid a heavy price. As far as we know for now, the production was to be broadcast on Fox as a 6-episode series and to be released in cinemas as a 2-episode movie on October 29.
However, according to Fatih Altaylı, new developments have occurred. The two-part film, which will tell about Atatürk, will be released throughout Europe, including Central Europe. In addition, it will be on the big screen in many East Asian countries.
Negotiations are continuing for the release of the film about Ataturk in the USA and Russia. However, the real bombshell news given by Fatih Altaylı was the claim that two other industry leaders will broadcast the Atatürk series, which Disney Plus gave up broadcasting globally on its platform.
According to Altaylı’s claim, the Atatürk series will be broadcast by Amazon Prime Video and Netlfix to cover all subscribers globally. If you wish, you can access Altaylı’s entire article here.
