ASUS has redesigned the G14 and G16 with aluminum structures, a smaller and sleeker hinge, designs that don’t raise the deck, and equipped with 16:10 OLED displays (2880 x 1800/120Hz for the G14 and 2560 x 1600/240Hz for the G16). It also includes larger trackpads, keyboards, a new fast-charging port with a reversible head (independent of USB-C charging), six-speaker audio setups, new chips from AMD’s Ryzen 8000 series (on the G14), and Intel’s Meteor Lake There are innovations such as new chips from the series (in G16), up to 32 GB DDR5 RAM, and customizable white lighting strip.

However, it is noteworthy that the Zephyrus G14 and G16 use Nvidia’s graphics cards from last year. While G14 can be configured up to RTX 4070, G16 can go up to 4090. However, we may have to wait for Nvidia’s 40-series Super GPUs and higher-end laptops. The long-term benefits of a redesign may outweigh chip improvements over the years. Both models feature 40 series cards that support DLSS 3.5, Frame Rendering and Rail Reconstruction.

ASUS’ Republic of Gamers family includes less subtle updates for the ROG Strix and Strix Scar models. The new 2024 Strix and Strix Scar models now feature 16-inch and 18-inch displays equipped with 14th Gen Intel processors (up to 14900HX). These have similar features to previous models; 16:10 QHD displays are similar to RTX 4080 (Strix) or 4090 (Strix Scar) configurations. These powerful laptops will launch in late January and start selling at $2,899.99 for the high-end Strix Scar 16-inch and $2,999.99 for the 18-inch.

Equipped with innovative designs and updates, these new models seem to offer impressive options for gaming and daily use. However, ASUS has not yet announced the price of ROG Strix.
