ASPİLSAN took delivery of the lithium-ion battery production plant machinery systems!

ASPİLSAN Energy, a subsidiary of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, announced that the machinery, equipment and auxiliary systems of Turkey’s and Europe’s first lithium-ion cylindrical battery production facility to be established in Kayseri have arrived in the country. Here are the details…

Revolutionary innovation in battery technology!

Developments in the battery world do not slow down. The last battery produced has features that can be used in many areas in the future.

ASPİLSAN took delivery of machine systems

Ferhat Özsoy, General Manager of ASPİLSAN Energy, made the following statements after the necessary equipment arrived in our country and received it;

The production of the machine systems of our ASPİLSAN Energy Li-ion Battery Production Facility, which was approved to be given “Project-Based State Aid” with the approval of our President on 06 August 2021, was completed in South Korea. Factory Acceptance Tests of the machines were carried out meticulously in September with the participation of ASPİLSAN Energy engineers. Our machine systems, which set off from South Korea on 02 December, arrived in our country as of 03 January. A total of 79 containers reached Kayseri.

One of the main reasons for this investment is to reduce foreign dependency. Because with the facility to be established in Kayseri, it is aimed to reduce the external dependency and current account deficit in batteries and batteries, which are a part of almost every technological product, with the production to be made using completely domestic and national technologies.

In addition, it is planned to become even more competitive in the sector and to reach an annual production capacity of 220 MWh by developing new cost-reducing measures on top of these investments.

In the statement made by ASPİLSAN, it was also announced when the activities at the facilities would start. Accordingly, towards the end of April, mass production is expected to start at the facilities with a closed area of 25,000 m2.

The areas for which production will be made at the lithium-ion battery production facility are as follows;

In our lithium-ion battery production facility, we will have produced the cells used in the production of battery systems, which are needed by both the defense industry and other sectors. With the cells we will produce, it is possible to produce batteries used in other sectors such as radio, weapon system, night vision, jammer battery systems, as well as e-bike, e-scooter, telecom batteries, robotic system batteries, medical batteries, household vehicles batteries and energy storage systems. will be.
