Apple’s eSIM imposition on the iPhone 15 series!

According to the leaks emerging today, the European versions of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models, which are expected to be introduced next September, will now use only eSIM for mobile phone connection. Of course, it is stated that this situation can only happen in France. But Apple usually sells devices that come off the same production line in most European countries. This indicates that a decision has been taken across Europe.

iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro will come with eSIM!

Apple removed the SIM card slot from all iPhone 14 models in the US last September. So it forced customers to use eSIM. However, users started using eSIMs on a mobile phone plan without using a physical nano-SIM card. This situation was expected to spread to the global market.

As the availability of already existing eSIMs expands, removal of the SIM card slot outside of the US seems inevitable. But the transition will take a few more years to complete. Still, Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 15 series in September. Also, Apple promotes eSIMs as more secure than physical SIM cards, as they cannot be removed from a lost or stolen iPhone. So this transition will be much faster.

According to the latest news, Apple held a special event for its 100-person management team for the virtual reality headset.

Additionally, up to eight eSIMs can be managed in the Settings app on iPhone, making life easier for users by eliminating the need to buy, carry and replace physical SIM cards while traveling. Already, two eSIMs can be activated at the same time on iPhone 13 and later models.

With these developments, the removal of the SIM card slot may become commonplace in more devices in the future from manufacturers other than Apple. However, it should be noted that for some users, physical SIM cards are still a preferred option with its own advantages. Therefore, coercive decisions can draw backlash.

In addition, Apple has not yet made an official statement about the iPhone 15 series. But considering that the company launches new iPhone models in September every year, the iPhone 15 series and the mandatory eSIM transition are expected to enter our lives later this year.
