AOC AGON AG275QX/EU gaming monitor review!

Until a few years ago, the first thing that came to mind for everyone we thought of as a gaming monitor was some features or criteria that they had to sacrifice. For example, if we wanted a high refresh rate, we had to compromise on image quality.

Similarly, when we chose the ideal size for us, we had to ignore the fact that we did not have some requests in terms of image quality, resolution or performance. Otherwise, we would have to spend a larger budget on the monitor than we allocated for the case.

But this has changed in new generation monitors. It has now become much easier for us to access monitors of the size we want, with panels that offer very high refresh rates, resolutions above FullHD, and the best color accuracy and viewing angle.

More than a monitor: AOC Q27P3QW review!

Today, we are discussing with you AOC’s new 27 inch monitor Q27P3QW, which is a guest in our office. AOC Q27P3QW monitor review…

Our review subject today, AOC AGON AG275QX/EU, appears as an optimum device in every sense. Thanks to this monitor, we do not have to compromise on size, image quality, resolution or performance. But before moving on to its features in detail, let’s take a look at its design.

Design

When we look at the device from the back, we see that it has a very stylish design. Its sharp lines, resembling a diamond cut, create a tough and muscular image. The AGON logo located in the upper middle and the red lines starting from the bottom and going in two opposite directions add a distinct elegance to the design.

On both sides of these lines, there are ventilation grilles that extend and expand from top to bottom. We see that a joystick type controller is placed on the back right of the monitor so that you can easily access and control its settings, and the cable exits are positioned at the bottom, facing downwards.

The monitor’s stand also carries similar design lines. We can easily turn the panel part to the right, left, up and down, and thanks to the pivot feature, we can rotate it as we wish, and even use it in a vertical position if we wish.

Although the device has advanced features, high image quality and many ports, it manages to maintain its not thick and aesthetic design. Similarly, the legs under the stand have an open triangle-shaped design that will allow it to take up as little space as possible on your desk instead of taking up a huge area.

Panel features

The 16:9 wide screen of AOC AGON AG275QX/EU uses an IPS LCD type panel with a size of 27 inches, a resolution of 2560 × 1440, that is, 2K, a screen refresh rate of 170 Hz and a response time of 1 Ms. At the same time, the image it provides has 10 bit color depth and 1.07 billion color accuracy.

The monitor has a 170Hz refresh rate, which will be more than double or even almost 3 times the industry standard 60Hz level. Of course, we should point out that it is actually 165 Hz and by overclocking it goes up to 170.

Another striking point is that it automatically converts the image it receives as 4K 120 Hz and presents it by scaling it down to 2560×1440. Additionally, it offers the best experience in games with its 1 Ms response time, which eliminates tearing and blurring.

Let’s say that it has G-Sync support on the NVIDIA side and FreeSync Premium support on the AMD side. Additionally, DisplayHDR 400 with 400 cd/m² peak luminance allows your display to enhance picture quality with a wider color spectrum and more precise contrast.

Finally, let us note that it offers gaming support up to 120 Hz at 2K for console users. Thanks to 6 different game modes that you can select with a single click using the joystick controller on the back of the device, you can switch between the built-in presets offered for FPS, racing or RTS games.

Ports

AOC AGON AG275QX/EU gaming monitor has a 4-port USB 3.2 Gen port right next to the power input. Therefore, we can use it not only for keyboard, mouse and headphone connection, but also for high-speed data transfer.

On the opposite side of these USB outputs are image transfer options. At this point, we see that AOC is generous and offers 2 HDMI and 2 Display inputs. While HDMI 1.3-1.4b supports 144 Hz @1080p and 75 Hz@1440p refresh rates, HDMI 2.0-2.0b versions support 240Hz@1080p, 144Hz@1440p and 60 Hz@2160p (4K).

However, if you want to get 170 Hz at 2K, you need to choose Display connection. On the console side, since the highest 120 Hz support is offered, you can reach this refresh rate by using HDMI 1.3-1.4b in Full HD and HDMI 2.0-2.0b in 2K. Of course, you can also use the Display connection if you wish.

Let’s get to the results part. Who is this monitor for? So who should buy it? The primary target audience of this model is gamers who want high performance 2K Gaming. However, it will meet the needs by providing proficiency in many areas from graphic design to software and even production.
