The Germany co-head of Alvarez & Marsal explains the expansion of the business area of restructuring consulting in the German market.

Dusseldorf The New York-based consultancy Alvarez & Marsal is expanding in Germany. The company, which specializes in performance enhancement and restructuring, has also been offering tax advice since June 1st. “In the future, we will also advise our customers on tax issues in transactions,” explains Jürgen Zapf, co-head of Germany in an interview with the Handelsblatt.
Zapf further explained that the introduction of the new business unit means that from now on Alvarez & Marsal can also cover the entire cycle of transaction-related support in Germany – without being dependent on external service providers. “Taxes shouldn’t be a determining factor in transactions and restructurings, but they are an important factor,” he said.
