Alexander Sixt on the future of mobility and plans in the USA

Dusseldorf The history of the mobility company is one of change. Since 1912, Sixt has reinvented itself again and again. In the new edition of the Handelsblatt Disrupt podcast, entrepreneur Alexander Sixt speaks openly about this change – but also about the responsibility of running such a large company. He also reveals how his relationship with his co-CEO and brother Konstantin is and what the expansion plans in the USA look like, he comments on his controversial deal with the Chinese electric car manufacturer BYD and why he looks at his own transience every morning makes aware.

In an interview with Handelsblatt Editor-in-Chief Sebastian Matthes, Sixt also talks about his greatest entrepreneurial challenge: “Restoring the simplicity in this complex range of products, making things easier to live with and more understandable, that is one of the main tasks we face.” the problem with transformations is that things are becoming more and more complex.

He also finds very clear words about Germany as a business location. Germany is sinking “in a regulatory swamp”. He criticizes the lack of a strategy, especially when it comes to converting the mobility system.

In the interview, Sixt also shows how intensively he has already dealt with artificial intelligence – and reveals what he asked ChatGPT first.
