Former Facebook executive and current Instagram boss Adam Mosseri stated in a statement that Threads, which is seen as a Twitter clone, is basically not a suitable platform for news and politics.
Meta’s new application, Threads, went live as of last week and has garnered great criticism, especially from the Twitter community. The platform was accused of being too similar to Twitter in nature, which is not without fault. Even Elon Musk called Mark Zuckerberg a “copy+paste” he accused.
On top of all this, Adam Mosseri, former Facebook manager, current Instagram boss and thus also the boss of Threads, made a post on Threads. that can be thought of as to get rid of this image with an argument appeared before us.
“There is no place for politics and news here”
Adam Mosseri said in a post he shared on Threads: “The added urge for scrutiny, negativity and hate speech that comes with people along with politics and hard news isn’t worth the interaction or revenue it brings. Sports, music, fashion, beauty, entertainment, etc. like, without the need to delve into politics or hard news There are more than enough great communities to build a vibrant platform.”
While Mosseri was the Facebook boss in the past, there was a restriction on how much of the content that fell on users’ homepage would be news content on that platform. However, this will not be the case with Threads. According to Mosseri, on Threads, news or politics content algorithm will not be changed and those who share will not be sanctioned.
Threads, which was presented to the user last Wednesday and attracted great attention, has already Over 70 million users.
