Allegations that the government was ‘negotiating to block an account’ for the continuation of Twitter’s service stirred things up. İsmail Saymaz, who is mentioned among the accounts that are claimed to be blocked, made statements on the subject.

“At the meeting that lasted for six hours – there are some disabled accounts – they were trying to close İsmail Saymaz’s account. Twitter rejects it, too, within the scope of freedom of expression. They said, ‘I don’t know what you would do if there was a crime.’ ‘If there is such a thing, we will shut you down if you do not do what we say…’ This story has turned into the story of YouTube being shut down.”
