Berlin The procedure is actually very simple: a group of drones flies at different heights at night, only one with a light. This one draws attention and is shot at from the ground. The unlit drones remain in the dark and record the positions from which the shots were fired.
This new Ukrainian tactic is currently being reported on several Russian Telegram channels. Where new is relative: drone maneuvers in the dark are omnipresent in the Ukraine war.
What is really new about the tactic is that a drone is illuminated. But it shows that the Ukrainians have once again managed to quickly develop their fleet of drones, drone expert Samuel Bendett from the US research center Center for Naval Analyzes (CNA) tells the Tagesspiegel. And they obviously surprised the Russian positions with it.
