Frankfurt The prominent Berlin fintech Solaris has to look for new capital in difficult times. The institute is examining various options for this, several people familiar with the topic told the Handelsblatt. Solaris is feeling the effects of the fact that the financing conditions for start-ups have deteriorated due to the turnaround in interest rates and the looming recession.
The institute enables other fintechs to use Solaris’ banking license and use it to start their business and grow. Most company founders lack the money and time in the start-up phase to apply for their own license from the financial supervisory authority Bafin. The further development of Solaris is therefore of great importance for the entire fintech ecosystem in Germany.
