Cologne The chemical company BASF buys products and services worth more than 30 billion euros every year – from raw materials to company cars and freight containers. The company has to process around ten million pages of invoices from over 80 countries, many of which are still in paper form.
Ranking of the best medium-sized companies
In the past, documents passed through many hands and often had to be laboriously typed up. To simplify processing, BASF now relies on the “Smart Invoice” software from the medium-sized company Insiders Technologies from Kaiserslautern – it is based on artificial intelligence. The application reads the invoices automatically and analyzes them in a cloud. In this way, BASF was able to reduce the processing time for the invoices by around 50 percent.
