Frankfurt According to financial circles, the chemical and pharmaceutical group Bayer is starting a sales process for infrastructure and supply and disposal service providers at its most important German pharmaceutical locations. In this way, the Leverkusen-based group wants to release capital in order to invest in promising products in the pharmaceutical segment.

Several hundred million euros could flow to Bayer in a deal in which the company would outsource the supply of its sites with electricity, gas, heat and water, as several people familiar with the matter said.

Bayer has already contacted potential bidders. These include above all specialist companies that provide infrastructure services at other chemical or pharmaceutical production parks, such as Currenta, Infrareal, Getec or Remondis. However, a deal is not expected until next year. Bayer declined to comment.
