6-7 Times of Quota for Foreign High Schools Have Been Applied

More than a million students are getting ready to go to high schools, one of the new and most critical steps of their education life. At the beginning of the schools that parents prefer for their children, foreign schools started to take place.

According to the news shared by Cumhuriyet, on the first day of the pre-registration of the schools, the application quota to foreign schools is completed. over 6-7 floors it happened. Moreover, this rate was realized on the days when foreign school fees reached 500 thousand TL.

Why do parents want foreign schools?

Speaking to Cumhuriyet, Aslıhan Özenç, board member of the International Education Consultants Association, said that the demand for foreign high schools reasons behind the increase shared. The reasons listed in the light of the information received from the parents were as follows:

  • Decreased belief in the quality of education.
  • Not preferring private schools, which see student comfort and campus investment in front of quality and teacher investment, and a tendency to more well-established foreign high schools.
  • Foreign schools provide free education in their mother tongue.
  • The ability of these schools to offer education in their own countries with low tuition fees.
  • The most important thing is that children learn a second foreign language at schools, the opportunity to study abroad increases and they can grow up as world citizens.

Kadem Özbay, President of the Education Business Union, explained why there is a tendency to foreign schools in education, by transferring the problems in the current system explained:

  • Inability of public schools to respond to students’ socialization and individuation needs.
  • Increasing religion and propaganda courses, reducing positive sciences and weakening language education.
  • Having the opportunity to easily transfer abroad with foreign schools.
  • Local private schools see the future concern as an opportunity, increase prices and reduce the quality of education for profit.
