The 2022 budget of the Ministry of National Education was announced by the Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer. The budget for 2022 has been determined as 274 billion 384 million 474 thousand TL, an increase of approximately 30% compared to the previous year.

It was also explained how the 274 billion TL budget allocated for 2022 is planned. Accordingly, 6.3 billion TL for the bussed education and meal aid program that 1 million 248 thousand students benefit from, 5.5 billion TL for education programs for 422 thousand disabled students, 1 billion TL for student support and training courses, scholarships in primary and secondary education, 2 billion TL for clothing and stationery aid and pocket money, 1.4 billion TL for students staying in hostels, 1.2 billion TL for free book distribution, 1 billion 12 million TL for private school support, 914 million for students studying abroad TL resource allocated.

Reminding that schools will continue face-to-face education, the Minister of National Education said that distance education cannot replace face-to-face education and explained the reason as follows:
“Because educational environments are not just places where learning takes place. Schools are places where peer education takes place among students, joint projects are developed, culture-arts-sports activities are organized, psychosocial and personal development is supported, in short, the multidimensional development of students beyond learning is constantly supported. It has a meaning far beyond being an education center especially for our socioeconomically disadvantaged students. For this reason, we are determined to continue face-to-face education by strictly following the rules approved by the Ministry of Health Science Board.”
