Twisted Electrical LLC, headquartered in Northern Virginia, is an organization that modifies old model cars by combining today’s technology. In addition, they are also interested in businesses such as automobile restoration. However, we can say that their latest project covered both of these areas of activity. They electrified a Volkswagen Beetle model car, which can be considered really old at 61 years old.
At the beginning of the project, Blake Rhodes blended traditional automobile culture with electric car technology. As a result, a 1962 model electric Vosvos emerged. The Beetle purchased within the scope of the project was completely restored and brought to its first day condition. Then, the 1.3-liter internal combustion engine on the car was removed.

The electric car transition process in the public sector has begun. In the coming period, electric vehicles will be preferred instead of internal combustion vehicles.
Later, an electric engine called Netgain Hyper 9, producing 120 horsepower and 173 Nm of torque, was installed in the car. Thus, the car tripled the 40 horsepower of its original engine, reaching a power that would make other drivers in traffic question their own cars. The batteries that will feed this electric motor came from a very surprising brand.
The car has Tesla Model S batteries. With fine engineering calculations made between cars with two completely different architectures, the batteries of the Model S were placed in accordance with the structure of the Beetle. The only sad point here is that the Beetle has a range of 160 kilometers, instead of the Model S’s range of up to 634 kilometers, according to factory data.
The reason why the range decreased by almost 1 in 4 may be that the batteries were divided and some of them were transferred, since the Beetle is smaller than the Model S. As you can imagine, this means a serious reduction in range.
