With a Reddit user sharing the new YouTube Music update on his phone, YouTube Music’s new karaoke interface has emerged.
Although Spotify has been sitting on the throne for years in the music listening industry, YouTube Music now has a considerable position. In order to compete, YouTube Music has adapted a few features of Spotify and a new one is being added to them.
YouTube Music already had a lyrics section. However, the newly emerged feature is the same Spotify’s ‘live lyrics‘ feature, it provides a karaoke-style interface that shines the lyrics as they appear in the song.
Live lyrics interface coming to YouTube Music
A Reddit user discovered this lyrics interface that appeared on his device under the YouTube Music subreddit and Mirrored from Pixel 6 Pro with Chromecast Ultra. As we can see from the photo, the features will be as follows:
- Very similar to the lyrics interface of Apple Music and Spotify,
- Background, blurred and zoomed in album cover,
- At the beginning of the song, the album cover is in the middle of the screen without text. Then the album cover moves to the right and the song name + artist name appears. Finally the lyrics start to appear on the left side,
- The songwriters appear at the end of the song,
- If there are no lyrics, only the album cover, song title and artist name appear in the middle of the screen.
