Your Cat Could Be ‘Evidence’ of a Crime

A newly published study has revealed that cats can carry human DNA in pretty good condition.

Cats, which act like antidepressants with their murmurs and conquer the internet world with their strange behavior, came up with a completely different research today. The new research, published in Forensic Science International, that there may be ‘evidence’ at the crime scene revealed.

According to research, cats can contain the DNA of all humans in an environment in their fur. The study, conducted with 20 cats from 15 different households, 80% of DNA is detectable revealed that. Moreover, the amount of harbored DNA did not differ significantly from cat to cat, nor did the time it last interacted with a human or the length of its fur.

Even in the study, interesting situations were encountered

Scientists, 14 out of 20 cats with people succeeded in creating DNA profiles that could be correlated. One of the beneficiaries in the study revealed an interesting situation: A cat in an environment with two cats and two hosts contained the DNA of an unknown person belonging to a third person.

The number of cats in which an unknown human DNA was detected was 6. None of these hosts until two days before the work they had not taken a foreign person into their home. One of the possible reasons for this was shared as the DNA of a guest who had visited the house before was still found on the cat.
