Green Crescent is next to those who want to quit smoking with You Can Quit.

Pointing out that according to the Tobacco Atlas, prepared with the contributions of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Lung Foundation, 26.6 percent of deaths in Turkey occur due to tobacco use, Chairman of the Green Crescent Prof. Dr. Mücahit Öztürk used the following statements:

It should not be forgotten that smoking is among the three main risk factors for noncommunicable diseases, along with alcohol and obesity, and is seen as one of the main causes of death worldwide.

You can quit smoking, which was prepared by examining similar applications in the world, was designed to provide all kinds of support to those who want to quit smoking. Stating that people may need support in getting rid of addictions, Öztürk said, “As Yeşilay, we combined the best features of many applications in the world with our own strength. In this sense, we think that the You Can Quit application will provide a very important support to those who want to quit smoking.” said.

Users can start using the app by setting a target date before quitting, and the app shares its recommendations for quitting preparations every day. From the moment of quitting smoking, the triggering emotions and desire to smoke are followed and presented to the users graphically.

In this way, people can get suggestions in accordance with which situations they want to smoke most. The application also includes information on the number of days without smoking and the economic savings achieved by not smoking.

Users can statistically track what they have gained by quitting smoking via the mobile application and share their progress on social media by keeping a success diary. Those who need support can easily reach the Green Crescent Counseling Center Hotline 115, free of charge.
