Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, announced that the first smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm’s new chip will come out of them, in his post on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo after the launch. Although the CEO has not yet given any details about the name of the model, information from sources close to the company is that this device is the Xiaomi 13, which will be introduced very soon.
Qualcomm has reached an agreement with TSMC for its new processor. The processor, which will be produced with 4 nm technology, will use 1 x 3.19GHz ARM Cortex-X3, 2 x 2.8GHz ARM Cortex-A715, 2 x 2.8GHz ARM Cortex-A710 and 3 x 2.0GHz ARM Cortex-A510 cores. Qualcomm will include the Adreno 740 graphics interface that supports Ray Tracing technology in Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

The new chip will provide a 30 percent performance increase compared to its predecessor. In terms of energy efficiency, it has been announced that the new model will perform 40 percent better. Qualcomm underlined that the artificial intelligence capabilities of its new processor have been taken to the next level. Instant data flow will be provided in natural language processing (NLP) operations. In other words, users’ conversations will be instantly translated into other languages.
One of the most important changes in the processor was made on the camera side. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor will come with 200 Megapixel support. Users will be able to record 30FPS video in 8K HDR settings. There is also hardware artificial intelligence support in the processor to improve camera performance.
