Worry about lockdown in the fall

Berlin With the failure of compulsory vaccination, there are also growing concerns about stricter corona measures or even a lockdown next autumn. “Vaccinations help to avoid drastic restrictions on economic and social life, also with a view to late autumn and winter,” said Employer President Rainer Dulger on Thursday after the Bundestag’s decision.

The health ministers of Baden-Württemberg, Berlin, Brandenburg and Hesse also expressed concern in a joint statement. “We will not bring the pandemic to an end with voluntary appeals alone,” it says. “Without sufficiently high vaccination protection in the population, there is a risk of another wave in autumn and thus considerable restrictions on freedom.”
