Aiven offers an operating system for the cloud, built from freely available open source software. This allows companies to flexibly manage their data on the servers of the powerful cloud providers. That means: less internal development effort, no risk of becoming dependent on one of the providers such as AWS, Azure or Google. Many managers take advantage of this.
Aiven has just become the 51st European unicorn. These $ 1 billion or more startups have long been a rarity. But in the venture capital boom, the category becomes a collective term.
