Frankfurt With the war in Europe, oil and gas are again an exciting investment topic. The switch to climate-neutral energy remains part of the strategy for the large corporations. But first of all, it is about the immediate consequences of the war.

After rising to over $130 per barrel in March, the North Sea oil grade Brent has fallen back towards $100, but is still well above the levels of the past year.

Gas shows a parallel development and is currently at 98 euros per megawatt hour for the three-month contract from TTF Natural Gas. The bottom line is that the providers make good money from the high prices, but they also have to free themselves from their dependence on Russia. An advantage for investors are the sometimes high payouts.
