What it means for savings accounts and home loans

Dusseldorf The European Central Bank (ECB) could raise interest rates in the summer – for the first time in more than ten years. The announced turnaround in interest rates has been keeping the markets in motion for weeks. But what does that mean in concrete terms? And what will be the consequences for people who want to take out a loan or who are worried about their savings? This is what financial reporter Jan Mallien explains in this episode.

Tamaz Georgadze is also familiar with interest rates in difficult times. With the Weltsparen platform, his start-up Raisin DS offers a kind of digital savings book and promises “the best interest rates” on the market. That was ultimately a unique selling proposition.
In the current episode of Handelsblatt Today he explains why he is particularly optimistic about the coming months despite the difficult situation with start-up financing in general and critical news about his company.

Tamaz Georgadze could be named founder of the year in Berlin on Thursday. The German Startup Award is presented by the Federal Association of German Startups.
