Frankfurt, Dusseldorf Whether Klaus-Michael Kühne is one of Lufthansa’s top customers – like Heinz Hermann Thiele from Munich was – is not known. Born in Hamburg, he is considered to be rather frugal. However, there is a parallel between the two successful entrepreneurs. Like the late Thiele, shareholder of the supplier Knorr- Bremse, Kühne also feels drawn to Europe’s largest airline group.
Kühne has now acquired five percent of the shares in Lufthansa through his investment company KA Logistik Beteiligungen GmbH. This makes him the second largest individual shareholder in the aviation group after the Federal Economic Stabilization Fund (WSF). In financial circles it is not excluded that he will acquire more shares.
