Weather information provider AccuWeather has joined Chainlink Labs’ caravan of companies using the oracle network, announcing that its node on Chainlink goes live today. AccuWeather will now present weather data with Blockchain technology.
Providing weather data to more than 2 billion users and founded in Pennsylvania in 1962, the company will bring information about temperature, precipitation, wind speed and natural disasters to its users through the AccuWeather API with this new initiative.
“Blockchain developers will now be able to use the AccuWeather node to access premium weather data on-chain such as precipitation with geolocation to power parametric insurance and weather-related dApps,” Chainlik reported on its official Twitter account.

On the other hand, the statement from AccuWeather states that this will allow developers to create new products such as weather forecasts, hedging markets and dynamic NFT art and games based on current weather conditions.
Matthew, AccuWeather’s Director of Flagship Products, said:
For us, it’s about making our data more accessible. That’s why we wanted to make sure that if there are apps that can help speed up alert services or anything like that, they can use and access our data.

Other organizations using Chainlink’s protocol include Google and the Associated Press. In October of this year, the Associated Press partnered with Chainlink to share election results, sports results and corporate financials on-chain.
These moves of Chainlink, which increases its network usage rate day by day, will have a positive impact on the price of LINK in the coming period.
