Toyota C-HR represents the brand’s innovative design approach in the C-SUV class and is put on the production line with Hybrid and PHEV versions built on Toyota’s TNGA-2 (Toyota New Global Platform). This project was implemented as a result of the devoted work of TMMT’s team of engineers and employees.

With the additional investment of 308 million Euros, the company’s total investment in Turkey reached 2.5 Billion Euros. The new Toyota C-HR has stepped into the Oceania region by adding Australia and New Zealand to its export range.

Sakarya Becomes the Epicenter of Electrification

TMMT continues its leadership by becoming the first and only facility among Toyota factories in Europe to produce rechargeable cars with the production of the new Toyota C-HR. The newly established battery production line with an annual capacity of 75 thousand units significantly strengthens the company’s electrification strategy in its European operations.

Vital batteries are produced for the new PHEV Toyota C-HR with its state-of-the-art production lines and expert staff. TMMT’s knowledge and qualified workforce in these areas constitute a model in electrification transformation for other Toyota factories.

Environmentally Friendly Production Approach

Adopting a sustainable and environmentally friendly production approach, TMMT is on its way to achieving the 2030 carbon neutral and 2040 carbon neutral targets set by Toyota in Europe. With the commissioning of the new paint facility, environmentally friendly production methods have been further strengthened.

The new Toyota C-HR model minimizes its impact on the environment with its 66 km range battery and only 19 g CO2 emission value per kilometer. The vehicle offers four different electrification options: 1.8 Hybrid, 2.0 Hybrid, 2.0 Hybrid 4×4 and 2.0 PHEV, and further reinforces environmentally friendly production by doubling the use of recycled materials.

Highlighting sustainability principles in design and technology, the new Toyota C-HR draws attention with its user-friendly digital features and high-quality interior design. This model is the first produced by TMMT and appeals to a wide customer base.

TMMT General Manager and CEO Erdoğan Şahin stated that the production of the new Toyota C-HR is an important milestone for Sakarya and the Turkish automotive industry and said, “This development shows how far Turkey can go in the field of high technology and value-added production.” “It’s an indicator,” he said.

The Toyota C-HR is built in line with Toyota’s “Always Better Cars” vision, which reflects Toyota’s commitment to continually providing its customers with products and services of the highest standards. This breakthrough by Toyota Automotive Industry Turkey raises the bar for a sustainable future by increasing production capacity and product quality.
