Wall Street rises after positive quarterly figures – Novavax shares crashes after doubts about Covid vaccine

Frankfurt, New York Optimistic forecasts from several pharmaceutical companies created a good mood on Wall Street on Wednesday. The Dow Jones closed 0.4 percent firmer at 35,609 points. The broad S&P 500 rose 0.4 percent to 4536 points.

The technology-heavy Nasdaq lost 0.1 percent to 15,121 points. In Frankfurt, the Dax went 0.1 percent firmer at 15,522 points from trading.

The courses received support from encouraging quarterly figures such as the mobile phone giant Verizon. The T-Mobile US rival profited from an influx of contract customers in the third quarter and raised its annual forecasts. The share gained 2.4 percent.

The US pharmaceutical company Abbott Laboratories recently sold more corona tests again and therefore raised its annual forecast. The shares rose 3.2 percent. The pharmaceutical company Anthem is also more optimistic about the year as a whole, the share certificates rose by 7.7 percent.
