Vulnerability in PayPal! 35,000 accounts stolen

One of the world’s largest digital payment services PayPalis facing a critical vulnerability. According to a new statement from the company, the payment service suffered a security breach in December that affected about 35,000 users.

The latest attack on PayPal accounts started with information leaked to the internet. It was learned that the attackers guessed the identity information of the users by using the previously revealed login information. Allegedly, the full names, birth dates, postal addresses, social security numbers and individual identification numbers of PayPal account holders were found on the internet.

PayPal said it stopped the intrusion within two days, resetting users’ passwords and not allowing any unauthorized transactions. Considering that the attack took place in December, the fact that no user accounts were reported as compromised supports this statement.
