Dusseldorf, Frankfurt The boss of the Hessian heating engineer Viessmann is considering setting up a new climate technology fund. The Handelsblatt learned this from three people close to the company. According to this, a large part of the money that Viessmann receives for the sale of its core business in the USA could flow into a fund through which Viessmann could invest in start-ups dedicated to the fight against global warming.

As announced in April, Viessmann is selling its “Air Conditioning Solutions” division to the US group Carrier. Carrier will pay Viessmann 12 billion euros for this. CEO Max Viessmann is to receive part of this purchase price in the form of shares. He gets paid the rest – 9.6 billion euros.
