Berlin According to Handelsblatt information, the Federal Ministry of Economics has approved the sale of Viessmann’s heat pump division to US competitor Carrier Global. The House of Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck (Greens) has completed the review of the investment. The ministry has now issued Viessmann a so-called clearance certificate for the deal, reports those involved.

However, Habeck only gave permission on the condition that Viessmann and Carrier strictly adhere to their agreed clauses on site security. The companies had agreed on long-term guarantees: Operational redundancies are excluded for three years, there is a five-year guarantee for the most important production, research and development locations, and above all the headquarters will remain in Allendorf in Hesse for at least ten years.
