Dusseldorf The deadline for an important project gets your pulse racing, there hasn’t been time for sports for a long time, and when you’re asked how you’re going to balance work and family life, you can only laugh nervously? Sometimes all it takes is a little thing to go wrong and the nervous system collapses.

Personal resilience is decisive for how well a person copes with a stressful or even crisis-ridden working day. In psychology, it is understood in the broadest sense as the ability to cope with stressful situations or life events.

But how do you build good resilience? The Handelsblatt asked two experts. The psychologist Donya Gilan from the Leibniz Institute for Resilience Research and the book author and coach Markus Czerner reveal their best tips.
