new York Russia Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has accused US President Joe Biden of hypocrisy in view of his commitment to diplomacy and cooperation. In his speech at the general debate of the UN General Assembly on Saturday in New York, Lavrov denounced that the US government is picking all participants at its planned democracy summit itself.
In doing so, they take out the right to decide on the democratic status of other countries. “Essentially, this initiative is clearly in the spirit of a Cold War, as it calls a new ideological crusade against all dissidents.” This contradicts the words of Biden in his speech on Tuesday that he does not want to see the world divided into two blocks again.
