new York Earnings declines at Microsoft and Google parent Alphabet weighed heavily on technology stocks on US stock markets on Wednesday. The index of the tech exchange Nasdaq fell by around two percent to 10970 points after being in positive territory in midday trading. The broader S&P 500 lost 0.5 percent to 3830 points. The Dow Jones index of standard values closed little changed at 31,839 places.
After the market closed, the results of Facebook’s mother Meta were due, Thursday from Amazon. Pundits are eagerly awaiting the numbers to see if earnings will weaken there as well.
