Anchorage The US military shot down another “flying object” over American territory on Friday. This was announced by the communications director of the National Security Council, John Kirby, in Washington. The flying object was at a high altitude over the state of Alaska and posed a threat to the safety of civil air traffic. Therefore, the US military shot it down on orders from President Joe Biden. Kirby emphasized that he could not yet say anything about the origin of the flying object.

Last Saturday, the US military shot down a suspected Chinese spy balloon over American territory off the coast of the state of South Carolina across the Atlantic. The US government accuses China of wanting to spy on military installations. Beijing, on the other hand, spoke of a civilian research balloon that had gone off course and of an “overreaction”.

More: After the launch of the Chinese balloon in US airspace, the tones from Beijing have so far remained remarkably defensive. Nevertheless, the relationship with the USA is heavily burdened.
