Up to 9000 euros relief for families since the beginning of the crisis

Berlin Since the start of the Ukraine war a year ago, the traffic light coalition has put together three relief packages and decided on a large number of individual measures to help citizens and companies in the energy crisis. The federal government has planned up to 300 billion euros for this. But what the enormous sum means for the individual was not known reliably even in the government.

It’s about the “mix of measures,” said Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP). “In this way, we reduce energy costs, prevent creeping tax increases and make direct payments for citizens who are particularly affected.”

Officials in the Federal Ministry of Finance have now, for the first time, calculated all the relief measures that have been initiated since the start of the energy crisis at the beginning of last year. To do this, they added up the relief effects for this year and the next, looking at specific example households. The calculations are available to the Handelsblatt and show who benefits particularly from which measures in Germany.
