Unprecedented speed: Thunderbolt 5 introduced!

Intel for almost a year of Thunderbolt 5 but the company has finally introduced the technology fully. Thunderbolt 5 supports more and faster displays using a single cable, as well as more powerful charging capabilities. from Thunderbolt 4 three times more to 120Gbps It will offer up to bandwidth. So, what will be the advantages of Thunderbolt 5?

Thunderbolt 5 is much faster than its predecessor

The biggest advantage of Thunderbolt 5 is how much data it can carry using a single USB Type-C cable. With Thunderbolt 5, this triples the 40Gbps offered by Thunderbolt 4, up to 120Gbps. But there is a caveat to this. This bandwidth can only be achieved when a special transmission mode is used.

Essentially, a Thunderbolt 5 connection has four lanes, each carrying 40 Gbps. In a standard configuration, it will use two lanes in each direction, providing 80 Gbps of bidirectional bandwidth, twice what Thunderbolt 4 offers.

But if it detects a scenario where more bandwidth is required, such as extremely high-resolution displays, Thunderbolt 5 can reconfigure the lanes so that all three go in the same direction, allowing your computer to transmit 120 Gbps of data while receiving up to 40 Gbps of data.

All models of Intel 14th Generation processors have been leaked: There are serious improvements!

Major leaks have emerged regarding Intel 14th Generation processors, which are expected to be introduced later this month. Here are the details…

This incredibly high bandwidth enables support for completely new display configurations, with support for up to three 4K displays running at 144Hz. There is good news for players too; Intel offers promising support for displays reaching up to 540Hz refresh rate.

Another change that comes with Thunderbolt 5 is support for charging your computer up to 240W; That makes this a perfect fit for laptops that need more power, like creators or gaming PCs. While the maximum charging speed on Thunderbolt 4 was 140W, only 100W was required.
