Star chef Steffen Henssler (49) gets a cooking show on ARD according to BILD information.
He is supposed to compete against the ZDF “kitchen battle” in the afternoon. At Vox he continues to “Grill the Henssler” and “Mälzer and Henssler deliver”. The Cologne broadcaster confirmed this on BILD’s request.
The project is not without risk for ARD: Except for Vox, it has failed so far with all other channels with their own formats such as RTL (“Henssler’s Countdown”), ZDF (“Topfgeldjäger”) and ProSieben (“Schlag den Henssler”).
With the latter format, Henssler moved after steadily falling audience ratings, especially in the target group of 14- to 49-year-old viewers relevant for the private broadcaster, after the eighth edition of the show – which he once directed by Stefan Raab (51, “Schlag den Raab”) had taken over – even the ripcord.
At that time he said: “The audience doesn’t want to see me in this role and you just have to accept that. And that’s why it’s now: wipe your mouth and off to the next adventure. “
Now the next adventure at ARD is imminent: At BILD’s request, ARD confirmed the production of a pilot episode. There are allegedly not yet any further resolutions. Henssler left a BILD request unanswered.
