Turkey’s most powerful domestic engine: TEI TF-10000 features!

From cars to airplanes, the engine issue was a border that Turkey had been trying to cross for many years. However, domestic defense industry companies managed to leave behind dozens of countries behind by advancing long distances in a short time. Finally, the TEI TF-10000, Turkey’s most powerful national aviation engine with its features, was introduced.

TEI, which is under the roof of TUSAŞ, has been producing both piston and jet engines for all sizes and needs for a long time. Here he has expertise in almost every field, from missile-rocket engines to helicopters and even jet planes.

TEI is currently used in UAVs. However, we can say that the most notable among them is the TF-6000, which is expected to be used in high-tonnage unmanned aerial vehicles such as Bayraktar Kızılelma. Finally, the TEI TF-10000, the version of the TF-6000, which was integrated with the afterburner and increased to 10 thousand horsepower, was introduced.

This engine can also be used in light training jets such as Hürjet, especially in unmanned warplanes produced by TAI and Baykar. But for now, let’s say that it is still in the design phase. Because the final data from TF-6000 is expected. The first engine start will take place next year.

Of course, under normal conditions, engine tests for TEI TF-10000 were expected to take place in the first two quarters. However, the program suffered a minor setback due to supply problems and embargoes. But once again, local companies stepped in and managed to break the embargo. As a result, materials produced by only 4-5 countries until today are now produced in Turkey.

Finally, let’s share another important point of this engine. As we mentioned, the TF-6000 was developed as a lightweight solution for warplanes that cannot reach slightly supersonic speeds. Then, TEI TF-10000 was designed on the same model. In the next step, the MMU engine will emerge in a short time with the gains gained from these areas.

As we mentioned above, the current point seems to be sufficient to meet many needs. For example, Baykar supplies engines such as AI-25TLT and AI-322F with 4-5 thousand horsepower from Ukraine for Bayraktar Kızılelma. But if TF-6000 and TF-10000 are integrated into this project, the project will reach a new level.

“We were importing the semi-finished products we used in the engine. We have also localized and nationalized them. We develop super alloys such as nickel and titanium used in the engine, in other words all critical materials, in Turkey.
